Curious by nature, I am an observant optimist with an honest sense of humor. I’m a writer at heart with a passion for visuals and a deep fascination with how we interpret—and move through—the world around us.

The Full Story

I was raised on Detroit’s west side, first making sense of the world through the window of my parents' car. I spent those rides analyzing the design choices of billboards, storefront signs, and logos, noting how they caught the eye and influenced the flow of traffic.

That early curiosity blossomed into a lifelong love for storytelling and communications. At Michigan State University, I leaned into this passion by studying interdisciplinary media and majoring in Creative Advertising with a concentration in Copywriting.

Wayne Kreates Media

In 2024, I founded Wayne Kreates Media LLC to bridge the gap for small-to-midsize businesses and nonprofits. Since then, I’ve delivered strategic brand solutions for over 10 organizations and captured milestone moments for more than 40 families. My work has always been about more than just aesthetics; it’s about creating a connection.

The Technical Turn

Today, my journey has taken a technical turn. In 2025, I joined the Apple Developer Academy in Detroit—the only one of its kind in North America. There, I am merging my advertising roots with iOS development and User Experience (UX) design.

My goal is to evolve into a technical designer who doesn’t just build apps, but builds them with intention—combining the psychology of advertising with the precision of code.
